Dark Matter Vanilla Porter by Oyster Creek Brewing Co.

I recently had the pleasure of designing this beer label for Oyster Creek Brewing Co. and their new porter release Dark Matter. The graphic design process began with illustration sketches. First, I work out the composition in pencil, focusing on the key elements of the design and how they would appear front and center on the can.

Once a concept is chosen, I redraw the hand lettering in Adobe Illustrator to create a crisp vector that can be sized to any dimension in case the client would like to use the logo outside the beer label. Think t-shirts!! 

Next, after the final art is illustrated, I explore layout and color in Illustrator. During this process I link the PSD file in a layer below the text and logo in Adobe. I can then focus on the hierarchy of the text and color palette.

Textured brushes are used in Procreate to create additional depth in the nebula cloud. This space design was outta this world to work on!
